3 Dog Night

Hello dear readers!  Did you have a great weekend?  We had a quiet one as our son, DIL and two grandsons went on an adventure - an airplane museum and a swim park that has a 747 airplane on top of the massive building full of pools, a wave section and 6 different water-slides!  All of the daffodils opened up, they smell wonderful.. so Spring-y!

The dining table is my view from my easy chair in the den and I've so enjoyed my St. Patrick's Day decor.

I just realized that my little boy and girl figurines are the size of Leprechauns!

I am introducing a new little Easter figurine I found, yes, she's a bit premature.. but I had to show you.  She is made by the same designer that made the boy and girl above.  Bethany Lowe's "Chickie Poo in Tutu".  Isn't she cute?

She's covered in yellow fuzz and holding a tiny basket of colored eggs.

She's going to look awfully cute with the other Easter things which will come out after St. Pat's Day is over.. Easter is VERY early this year, on April 1st.

We watched two depressing movies this weekend.  The first was "The Hours" about Virginia Woolf - it is about 3 women dealing with suicide in their lives.  It was a good movie but not very uplifting!  Then we watched "Angela's Ashes" about an Irish family in the 1930s and 40s.  The family is so poor that the babies die one after another and the father can't hold a job and whatever money he earns he spends on getting drunk while his wife and children freeze and starve in their horrible flat which floods on the main floor.  Sheesh.  The photo below is me using my Woodland blanket to warm me while watching the movies all the while crocheting row after row.

Now to explain the title of this blog post.  With the kids all gone over the weekend, we were in charge of 3 dogs.  The first night when we brought them all into our bedroom, Dayle put Buddy on our bed as usual and what do you know, the next thing was Meeka gracefully leaped upon the bed too!  I was actually amenable to try and let her stay there but Dayle did not think it was a good idea so he told her to get down.  Shelby had her foam bed at the foot of our bed.  We were glad the big dogs slept well through the night.  Dayle had extra dog walking duty with three of them but we all did fine.  :-)

Meeka spent the first 24 hours laying with her eyes on the back door hoping for the boys to return, but by the 2nd day I lured her into the den to hang out with us.  That's her right by my easy chair next to my bag of yarn.  :-)  And then Dayle called her over and she jumped in his lap for a chest rub.

Dayle and I had to do the mail-out of the Friends of Multnomah Falls, my sister Denise usually does it but is on a cruise through the Panama Canal.  I did the folding, Dayle applied the labels and stuffed the envelopes.  I'm the editor of the newsletter and take most of the photos and write some of the articles.  :-)  If you're interested in reading any of the issues, click HERE.

We took the newsletters to be mailed and collected the mail for FOMF, then went out to a late lunch, early dinner to Bumper's Grill.  Instead of our usual tenderloin we had their prime rib.  Oh my, it was delicious.  I had cole slaw instead of a baked potato.  :-P  (Edited to add - we both took home half of our dinner, so no.. we did not eat that whole big prime rib at one sitting.  lol!)

I'm off to swim soon.  Back to the weekday grind!  :-)  What are your plans for today?  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
